Celebrating Rochel Imeinu's Legacy with Creativity and Reflection

Last month, our after-school program, hosted a memorable event in honor of Rochel Imeinu’s yartzeit, led by the Goldie Shemtov. The evening was a heartfelt tribute to one of our most beloved matriarchs, offering the girls an opportunity to connect deeply with her legacy through creativity and reflection.

The event was thoughtfully designed for our Level 6+ older girls, creating an intimate and meaningful atmosphere. The girls participated in a serene paint night, combining artistic expression with lessons from Rochel Imeinu’s life. Together, we explored her kindness, particularly her remarkable selflessness toward her sister Leah—a timeless example of compassion, humility, and love. As the girls painted, they listened to the soulful melody of Mama Rochel, a song that beautifully captures the spirit of her enduring legacy.

The combination of painting, music, and heartfelt discussion created a powerful and enriching experience for everyone involved. The girls shared how inspired they were by Rochel Imeinu’s values and discussed ways to bring those lessons into their own lives.

The event was met with such enthusiasm that our younger girls’ classes have asked to have a similar program of their own! Plans are already in the works to create an engaging version for them, ensuring that the inspiration of Rochel Imeinu continues to resonate throughout our community.

This special night perfectly embodied the mission of our school: blending Torah learning, creativity, and personal growth in a nurturing and empowering environment. Thank you to Goldie Shemtov for guiding this meaningful event and to the wonderful girls for bringing their thoughtful energy and artistic talent to the evening.
