From a Google Search to a Jewish Champion

How One Family’s Online Journey Sparked a Life of Torah and Community

When Cecilia, a Jewish mom from Argentina, searched online for “Jewish education,” she had no idea that one simple Google search would change her family’s life. That search led her to the Nigri Jewish Online School, where she enrolled her sons, Nico and Juan.

During registration, Mrs. Chanie Hertzel, the school’s principal, warmly welcomed the family and connected them with Rabbi Bari and then with their local Chabad shluchim, Rabbi and Mrs. Freedman. Slowly, the family began taking part in community programs, holiday events, and Torah classes. What started as online lessons soon became a full Jewish experience filled with learning, connection, and pride.

After two years of devoted study in Nigri Jewish Online School with Rabbi Bari and active participation in their Chabad community, Nico and Juan joined JewQ, an international competition that tests children’s Torah knowledge in everything from mitzvot and Jewish history to tefillah and holidays. The program is both challenging and inspiring, pushing students to reach remarkable levels of understanding and confidence in their Jewish learning.

Cecilia watched with pride as her sons embraced the program with enthusiasm. Then came the big moment: Nico won first place in the Argentina JewQ competition with their JOS Rebbi, Rabbi Bari at his side!

Reflecting on the experience, Cecilia shared,

“It was very moving. We’re still recovering from the weekend and Nico’s milestone in life. My boys are so happy because they are growing in Torah, guided by incredibly wonderful teachers.”

From a simple online search to raising a Torah champion, Cecilia’s story captures the power of Jewish education, connection, and community -  wherever in the world a Jewish child may be.
