A Special Milestone: Celebrating Leora, JOS’s First High School Graduate
Jewish Online School recently celebrated a meaningful milestone: the graduation of Leora, our very first 12th grade student to complete the full high school journey at JOS.
While graduation is always a time to reflect and look ahead, this moment was especially significant—not just for Leora, but for the entire JOS community. Her graduation marks a new chapter for the school as well, highlighting the growth and development of our high school program.
The program opened with words of Torah, Tefillah, and Tzedakah—three pillars of Jewish life and learning that reflect the values at the heart of Jewish Online School.
The event brought together teachers, classmates, and family members to celebrate everything Leora has accomplished. Many of her teachers from over the years shared messages—some had taught her in earlier grades, others more recently. It was touching to hear from so many educators who had been part of her journey. Her classmates also joined in to share memories and words of encouragement.
As a gift, Leora received a special booklet filled with letters from her teachers and classmates, past and present. The booklet also included photos from throughout her years at JOS, capturing meaningful moments from her time at the school.
Leora gave a thoughtful presentation, sharing highlights from her time at JOS, including projects she worked on and important lessons she learned along the way. It was a personal and creative reflection that showed just how much effort and heart she put into her learning.
As Mrs. Chanie Hertzel, Principal of JOS, shared during the event: “This graduation is a milestone for Leora along with the entire school—for the first ever Jewish Online School 12th grader to graduate!”
Another speaker added, “This is not only a celebration of you, Leora, but of all those who guided you on this journey—your parents, teachers, and friends.”
Mazal Tov, Leora! Your accomplishment means a lot—to you, and to all of us at JOS.
